Kadamba Tree

Kadamba Tree in our culture has a lot of significance and it is associated with Lord Krishna. This tree looks very common just like others through out the year, but the magic starts to appear after the first showers and within few days small buds start to appear as of from nowhere. These buds then grow into real large spherical bulbs of orange yellow colour, which looks like a series lightening the tree. Once these spherical buds have come of size it starts giving out fragrance attracting bees and birds alike in the area. On fine misty morning, you wake up to the bloom, a mesmerizing sight! Today we woke up to this mesmerizing sight and we are sharing it with you all. And it reminds us one of the songs written by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

"Badal diner Pratham Kadam -You have gifted me the first blossom of Kadamba of this monsoon."

The Kadamba blossoms are the harbingers of change from hot sweltering summer months to much awaited and rejuvenating Monsoon season.

The great learning from the Nature in today's time: Let's not grieve. Life moves on. There is hope.

"Achhe Dukkho Achhe Mrityu - by Gurudev Tagore.

Despite misery, death and churning of the estranged heart, Peace and bliss prevail, hopes galore. Mellifluous is life, sparkling with smiling sun, moon and the stars, Spring appear enchanting with vibrant colours. Waves calm down as they rise again, Flowers fall apart as they bloom again. Never abraded, nor ceased, nor having slightest depression ever – The Completeness, my soul wishes to take refuge beneath - Translated by Anjan Ganguly.

  1. Interestingly our ancestral home is called Kadambat, may because there were many kadamb trees in the compound. We adopted the same name when we made a new house in Ahmedabad
